Sweater weather has officially started here in Vegas. Unfortunately, the weather is supposed to warm up again soon, so I am enjoying the crisp fall breeze while I can! The change of season seems appropriate as I transition into this new phase of my life: motherhood. A little shopping trip post baby was definitely needed and it has got me thinking about what we really need in our wardrobe to transition into fall fashion. Do we really need a whole new closet? Or can we get away with refreshing just a couple of season staples? Today I am bringing you 5 items I think you must buy for the fall season!
1. A Neutral Sweater
It is no secret that we all live in cozy sweaters and cardigans during this time of year. But I definitely suggest going for at least one sweater that is neutral and can be easily dressed up or down. This cream turtle neck can go either way when you pair it with the right accessories.
2. A New Pair of Denim
Sure we all have several pairs of jeans in our closet. But there really isn’t anything like a fresh pair of denim. So many of my jeans looked and felt so worn after many seasons of wear. So I recently picked up this pair. But fall is a great time to purchase because many retailers have great sales going on. Express has some amazing deals right now!
3. A Classic Heel
I don’t need to remind you to buy a pair of boots. I am sure all of your local retailers have reminded you that it is boot season! But a classic pair of heels will take you far during the next few months. With Holiday parties right around the corner, you will get a ton of wear out of a nude pump.
4. A Deeper Lipstick Shade
If you are hesitant to grab a dark purple or red lip, you can still update your look to be “fall appropriate” without making a dramatic change. Take your normal lipstick and find something in the same color family, only 1-2 shades darker. Mauves, berries, purples, and reds are great colors to rock at this time of year!
5. A Deep Colored Scarf
Scarves are a great option to update your look at an affordable price. Grab a few in some darker patterns and shades and throw them over a neutral outfit or sweater!
